Family Meals Matter

An analysis of 17 studies found that children and teens who shared family meals three or more times per week were more likely to have healthy eating patterns and a normal weight range than children and teens who shared less than three family meals per week.

Preserved Vegetables are as Nutritious as Fresh

The carotenoid content of fresh, canned + frozen samples of corn were compared, showing that canning did not significantly alter the levels and that frozen samples contained comparable or greater amounts.

Frozen Vegetables are as Nutritious as Fresh

This study did a direct comparison of the nutritional quality, using Vitamin C as a marker, of fresh vegetables vs the same vegetable commercially quick-frozen and deep freeze stored.

The Benefits of Family Meals

Using meta-analysis this study found that children and adolescents who share family meals 3+ times/week were more likely to be in a normal weight range and have healthier dietary and eating patterns.
