I recently heard a commercial (unfortunately I can’t remember what it was for!) that had a joke that went like this: Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes….that way you’ll be a mile away and they won’t have any shoes! Ha ha ha! As health and nutrition professionals, we know how important it is to understand our audience’s point of view when we are educating and encouraging positive behavior change.
